How to get motivated to workout when tired
Finding the energy to exercise, especially as a parent, can be difficult when we're being pulled in a million directions with dozens of responsibilities. So how do we find the energy, or motivation, to exercise when our physical (and emotional) batteries are already nearly empty?
Over the years of coaching individuals one on one, there are a variety of factors that go into "finding" motivation or developing more energy. Sometimes, it's as simple as a small lifestyle change such as time blocking or rearranging our schedules, exercising in the morning before we're drained from work, or participating in a group challenge to increase accountability. Other times, it comes down to our mentality and self-sabotaging thoughts we are telling ourselves that are derailing us from taking the appropriate action necessary.
This is why I reached out to former professional hockey player turned full-time Nutrition Coach, Matt Kadolph, to discuss all things related to motivation and why parents specifically have such a hard time staying consistent with their diets and health goals. Click the video below to learn some of Matt's greatest strategies that he teaches his clients to perform to achieve higher levels of motivation and to stay consistent with their weight loss goals.
